Mechanism |

Abstract |
Internet gives rise to the blended teaching, the
teaching philosophy of which is student-centered and
teacher-guiding. Therefore, the teaching reform team
conducted a two-year study and practice on the
integration of cultural elements into college English
classrooms. This teaching reform project adheres to the
concept of ¡°student-centered¡±, ¡°whole person education¡±
and aligns with the goals and requirements of the new
version of the "College English Teaching Guide". Based
on the textbook "New Horizon College English", the
teaching content is restructured, and the teaching
scaffold is based on language and culture comparison to
improve the effectiveness of students¡¯ second language
acquisition. At the same time, the teaching reform team
has created a multidimensional teaching evaluation
system that combines formative evaluation with process
evaluation, self-evaluation with other evaluations,
which not only comprehensively and objectively reflects
the learning process, but also has a backwash effect on
teaching. This teaching mode builds a college English
scaffold to cultivate students¡¯ objective and
comprehensive understanding of the external world and
enhance their cross-cultural communication skills. After
two years of teaching reform practice, the teaching
reform team has achieved excellent results in teaching
effectiveness and academic research.
